Dirk obtained his BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Upon graduation, he was awarded two medals, one for best performance in measurement and control, and the other for best student in electronic engineering subjects.
Dirk began work at Siemens directly after completing his degree. After 10 years he joined Cadisa. He has many years of experience as a Systems, Software and Drives Engineer, developing, managing and commissioning solutions for a number of different industries, including metals, pulp & paper, materials handling and various process and chemical plants.
Dirk is registered as a Professional Engineer in terms of the Engineering Profession Act. He is a member of the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and the Society for Automation, Instrumentation, Measurement and Control (SAIMC).
Willie obtained his BSc (Physics and Computer Science) and BSc (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He then furthered his studies obtaining an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the same university. All three degrees were obtained Cum Laude.
He has a keen interest in power electronics and this was also the field he chose for his post graduate studies. The title of his thesis was “Analysis and synthesis of an active resonant snubber for high power IGBT converters”1.
After his permanent studies he joined Siemens in the Industrial Solutions division. After 13 years at Siemens he joined Cadisa. He has many years of experience as a Project Manager, Systems Engineer and Hardware Design Engineer in various industries, including metals, material handling, pulp & paper and furnaces.
